We are delighted to announce that The Yorkshire Vet will return to Channel 5 from the spring with 10 all new episodes. There will be a further run of new episodes in the autumn too – details to be announced.
The first series of 6 episodes were transmitted in the autumn of 2015 and quickly established a loyal and growing audience of around 1.5 million each week.
The Yorkshire Vet captures life at Skeldale Veterinary Centre in Thirsk, North Yorkshire, where James Herriot based his famous “All Creatures Great and Small” stories. His books became a film and a hit TV drama series. Nowadays, real life drama prevails as vets Julian Norton and Peter Wright continue the Herriot tradition of looking after everything from hamsters to horses.
Daisybeck Studios MD, Paul Stead said “Julian and Peter have captured the hearts of the viewers and we are thrilled that they are letting our cameras back in to follow the Skeldale staff as they care for animals of all shapes and sizes in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.”
The Yorkshire Vet will be Series Produced by Lou Cowmeadow and is a Co-production with GroupM Entertainment. Melanie Darlaston will once again be the Executive Producer for GroupM Entertainment and Paul Stead Executive Producer for Daisybeck Studios.
